I am pretty pressured at the moment, having been forced into bathroom clean-up duty by necessisity. Again, I am someone who is still really not into the "do it yourself" bit of cleaning, even though I am a staunch believer of keeping living quarters clean. I just believe that there are people out there whose job description is to do these things. I'm a bit busy with my life to bother myself with the task of cleaning. But, as it happens, my personal pride (ie, my reluctance of letting my wife do it instead) has forced me to take on the unwanted job.
Of course, I did not have the capacity to do the cleaning the bathroom (particularly the grout) properly; I didn't like cleaning the room as a child, much less clean not one, but two bathrooms as an adult. It was just male pride that drove me on, scrubbing and cleaning to the best of my ability. In the end, however, it was a losing battle; the grout in particular is impossible to completely clean.
It's time to strategize. I beat a hasty retreat and thought over what I should do, as any fighter knows. In the end, I decided to bring in the cavalry reinforcements. After a bit of consultation with my commanding officer (aka the wife), I went through and called in the professionals.
The professional cleaners arrived after a day or so, armed with their equipment and machines. After discussing the cost and arriving at a price we agreed upon, the cleaners went straight to the bathroom and plugged in their machines. The noise of the equipment assured me that work was being done and soon after, they were done.
Amazing. The bathroom floor looks pretty brand new. Needless to say, I would never have had the time and capacity to have done that myself. The professionals noted that, as we had regularly cleaned up the grout, they didn't have to do anything drastic. I'm just happy elated I don't have to do it myself again.
